Why Basalt?

A natural volcanic rock, basalt covers most of the earth. It’s the "natural building block" of our planet. Although much of the supply is under our oceans, in many regions around the world there are viable and quality seams of basalt rock. Not all basalt is the same, however. From region to region, there are mineral differences in the basalt that can change the properties of the final product.

The natural properties of basalt make it ideal for applications where chemical and corrosive environments devour most other products. Basalt is also ideal where a non-metallic reinforcement is required due to RF interference or in the medical field for MRI suites.
